Life Crises & New Direction

Change needs time to breathe.

A separation, the loss of a job, a burnout, or simply the creeping sense that this is not your life: there are phases that pull the ground out from under us. Everything that felt settled yesterday is suddenly in question. I will walk with you through that fog. Together we sort through the chaos, honour what has been, and find out where your own compass is really pointing now.

The turning point as an invitation.

We are often afraid of change because we cannot control what we do not know. So we hold on far too long to situations that stopped doing us any good. In Gestalt therapy a crisis is not a failure. It is a necessary break — the pain is telling you that an old form has become too tight. Once we stop clutching at what was, our hands are free for whatever wants to come next.

Setting a new course of your own.

In times of upheaval, quick advice from outside is no help at all. What matters is finding the way back to your own instincts. In a protected setting I help you take stock and rediscover what you have to draw on:

Taking stock: We look honestly at where you stand right now. What still carries you, and what is allowed to go?

Saying goodbye: Change needs grief. We give the loss room, so that you become genuinely free for what is new.

Clarifying values: Who are you today? We work out which needs and which values should shape the life ahead of you.

Experimenting: Instead of planning it all out in theory, we try things here and see how a new path actually feels.

Trusting what you feel.

With the big decisions we go round in circles of pros and cons. But the head on its own rarely knows the way. So we work with all of you: we let your different inner voices speak to one another — with the empty chair, for instance. You then feel in your body, and not only in your thoughts, which decision you can actually carry.

What you gain:

Clarity: You see what actually matters to you. Decisions then come from conviction rather than from fear.

Solid ground: You find your footing again. Even in the storm of change you feel steady and trust your own strength.

Real meaning: You discover what drives you. Instead of only functioning, you shape your life again along your own values.

Fresh courage: You find the strength to leave the old paths. Fear of the unknown gives way to curiosity about what lies ahead.

Your next step.

A crisis is hard to carry alone. Support from outside can help you see land again sooner. As a private practice I can offer you a place quickly when the strain is high. In a free initial consultation of about 20 minutes we work out how I can best support you where you are now. That conversation and the sessions that follow are held in English.

This has clear advantages for you:

Quick help: In an acute upheaval every day counts. We can often start very soon and get you steady again, with no long wait.

Complete discretion: Especially important in a crisis at work: what you bring stays private. No diagnosis is passed on to any health insurer.

Your own rhythm: Close support, or the occasional session to get your bearings: we adjust how often we meet to what you need.

An easy first step: Getting in touch should be simple. Send me a short message or call — I will get back to you.
